Compare player-reported main-story and completion times, then plan sessions around your group and host.
Big Walk takes roughly 11½ hours for the main story or 18½ hours for completion, according to the headline estimates on HowLongToBeat when checked on September 7, 2026. These are player submissions, not a timer or a promise from House House. [hltb]
| Goal | Published estimate | What the label means |
|---|---|---|
| Main story | 11½ hours | Reach the main conclusion |
| Main story plus extras | 14 hours | Finish while exploring additional activities |
| Completionist | 18½ hours | A broader completion run as reported by submitters |
HowLongToBeat’s detailed table had 87 main-story submissions and 88 completionist submissions in the captured snapshot. Those samples will change. Its generic table label “Single-Player” does not mean Big Walk has a single-player campaign: the developer specifies cooperative play for 2–12 people. [hltb] [faq]
For a group with two-hour play sessions, the main-story estimate works out to about six sessions. Treat that as calendar planning rather than an expected clear time: puzzle discussion, exploring, meeting up and waiting for missing teammates all affect your evening.
The host retains the save. Choose someone who can attend each planned session, because another player joining the group is not the same as transferring that host’s progress. A session can be resumed later by the same host. [faq]
Do not assume a completion-time label guarantees every platform achievement. Steam lists twelve achievements, including equipment and exploration tasks alongside the ending-related names. Compare the achievement list with your own account before deciding what remains. [steam-achievements]
For your first visit, budget around the story estimate and leave spare time for exploration. For a return trip with players who already know the puzzles, read about replayability instead of treating a first-run average as your target.
